One's own space
For
their individual, research we asked the participants to choose a space
that was closely related to them and to record it sound wise.
They had to pay particular attention to the nature of the space, their
recording device and their intension. They could record as long as they
wanted but had to select 3 to 5 minutes.
In addition we asked
them to collect and record sounds that could be inside that space.
These sounds could be concrete, abstract, human or not, related or not.
The
day after, the participants had to describe the space vocally and
record it. The idea was to work with their memory of the space.
With
these three different sound sources each person had to create a sound
score or composition to later edit with Els and make a podcast .
