The reality: “The Giant scenario"
The Space appears as a breathing entity that contains the concept of future reflections and artistic interventions. The reality, the Giant Scenario is a research that approaches the city space as a living body that seeks for our attention. Step by step I will develop a metaphorical diagnosis, a scan of the functionality of space organs, creating an aesthetic, emotional, sociological and physical approach of the  space as a body. As working methodology I will address the  space, with a critical vision on sensorial and visual awareness. In order to map our environment I will draw and recompose the elements of the space, collecting lost details and objects on  walks (derives). Moments where I will get lost into a world of colors, shapes, ornaments, sounds, rhythms… and relate to places that are damaged, abandoned, dead or ill... The research will be a resource of a urbanist and emotional mapping of the space and its graphical potentialities within a new scenario, a new life, a new narrative of forgotten details. The space will not be the set of public interventions but a living body that incorporates us, an extended form of connections, reconstructions, treatment, placement and intersections.

Installation/ performance

Rethinking the space as a living organism, a research that redefines space as a body. A poetic and symbolic reference that suspends the illness as a metaphor. A reveal of malfunctions and disabilities of the organs and metabolism in the space. A semiotic analyses that transfer an organic illness to ‘illness’ as a property of space: as the visible outcome of the invisible symptoms that  encounter the spatial organism and its vulnerable form of human organization.

In order to make a diagnosis of symptoms such as ‘damaged’, ‘abandoned’, ‘broken’, ‘bruised’, ‘wounded’, ‘forgotten’. The  genesis of meaning takes place when the metaphor is expressed by an action/ intervention. In order to re-write the physical damage of the patient/space, the hilling process illustrates concepts of topography and space surgery.

This research relates the singularity and weakness of humanity to the complex layering of nature’s politics and the impact of human interference with natural processes. It reveals the cataclysm of nature and its natural upheaval against humanity.  Using the reference of cordyceps as an organisms that invade, alters and affect the behavior of the host, this station is a research in progress: a animist approach to reading the traces of life in the space.
